Week 10 Stats

I was really dreading my week 10 stats.  I knew I wouldn't see as much improvement that I saw from week 1-6.  And mentally it was just eating at me.  I have a certain mentality when it comes to certain things.  Once I start something I want to get it done ASAP.  I want it done and I want to see the end result.

Well with this journey I'm taking it is an extremely slow process.  Yes, I could speed it up and lower my calories even more and practically starve to death, but that's not going to happen.  For one, if I did that my body would go into starvation mode and start to store fat.  Secondly, I already feel like I am at a pretty low calorie intake and I really can't go any lower.

So this morning marked 10 weeks for me and I was dreading weighing myself in.  Why?  Because I knew I gained 1 pound back when I got back from Chicago.  So I was really concerned that my 10 week stats would totally suck.  Well, this morning I was pleasantly surprised that I am now down to 146 pounds.   Bringing my total weight loss to date at 13 pounds.  Which means I have lost weight at a steady pace.  Which is really good news.  From everything that I have read, It's healthier for you to only lose 1-2 pounds a week and you have a greater chance at keeping the weight off when you do it this way.

My biggest improvement from week 6-10 was in my thighs and arms.

Moving Forward:

I have to keep reminding myself to look at the big picture.  I have to realize that it takes time.  I also am beginning to get into the stages of trying to tone rather than lose.  I still want to lose about 10 more pounds.  But I know it's going to be extremely hard.  I have to measure my success by how I feel, how my clothes are fitting me, and how I look in the mirror.  I will definitely keep weighing myself, but weight isn't the whole picture.

Next week I run in my first race.  I am achieving this goal way sooner than I thought I would.  I am really excited but still kind of nervous! This week I have been stepping up my running game and been training on the treadmill with inclines.  It totally kicks my butt.

Next weigh in will be in 4 weeks.
